Decorating Plain Wedding Shoes & Rhinestone Shoe Clips

Add pizzazz to your plain wedding shoes by using rhinestone shoe clips! You can even decorate your shoes yourself easily. You’ll save money buy purchasing a plain pair of shoes for your wedding and adding your own unique details to match your dress.

The easiest way to add sparkle and interest to a plain pair of bridal shoes is to use silver, pearl, colored stone or rhinestone shoe clips. Shoe clips simply clamp onto the front of your shoe and look like they are part of the shoe. Your shoes will look custom and unique if you add a pearl or rhinestone shoe clip that matches your other attire, such as your jewelry, beading on your dress or edging on your veil.

If you are unable to find the perfect shoe clips you can easily use a pair of vintage clip on earrings. Vintage clip on earrings can be found at vintage stores or on eBay for cheap. How beautiful would blue rhinestone shoe clips be that are actually made out of vintage clip on earrings? Simply clip on the earring and either add a dot of glue with a hot glue gun, super glue or sew on the earring clip. You’ll need to secure a shoe clip made out of clip on earrings more because they don’t clamp as tightly as regular shoe clips and could fall off. Also, you may need to add a piece of fabric backing (again, glue or sew) between your foot and the back of the earring clip for extra comfort.

Speaking of hot glue guns, you can also consider adding ribbon, loose rhinestones, silk flowers or other decorative elements to your bridal shoes. If you don’t have a hot glue gun (every crafter needs one though!) another strong glue will work.
