Handmade Wedding Card Box
by Sandra
Blue Card Box
I cut holes in their bottoms so the cards would fall all the way down into the largest hat box. I just taped them together using masking tape which I knew would be covered up by the fabric. They were plain cardboard at first so I glued on light blue fabric on the outsides, sort of upholstering them. It was tricky to get it just right but my fabric had a bit of stretch to it which helped. A whole lot of hot glue from a glue gun was used! The only problem I ran into was that the small opening at the top wasn't big enough for two of the cards we got! Oops! Those were tucked underneath the card box holder as we found later when we moved it. All the others fit just fine though and we actually did get a number of cards. I love how this mirrored our three tier cake, which was also blue! In fact nearly everything was, my favorite color is blue so we did as much blue as we could with the flowers, cake, decorations, table linens, etc. This cake box though is really the only thing I did myself and it is my favorite! I wish I would have done more myself but we planned so fast (in just four months) that I felt like I ran out of time. |
