Daisy Candle Wedding Centerpiece

Daisy Candle Wedding Centerpiece

I made these candle and daisy wedding centerpieces for my summer 2009 wedding and just wanted to share how easy it was.

I knew I wanted to create my own centerpieces but dealing with loads of flowers seemed really daunting. I also liked candles and considered just doing candles too, but that didn't seem "fun" it seemed too elegant and we were going for a more casual, fun vibe that suited us as a couple.

It was summer and I've always loved simple daisies. I found the wooden cake trays at a huge discount on clearance and I only needed ten of them. The candles cost the most money at a couple dollars each but it was just so easy and I did save money versus hiring a florist.

The best part is that people really did want to take home the cake stand and candles at the end of the night, people were fighting over them! Had I known, I would have done that game where just one chair at each table had a special "you win the centerpiece" tag underneath it.

The flowers around my centerpiece aren't even in water or anything, they are just stuck around the candles. They lasted and looked fresh all night.

The candles were beautiful at night and set a mood for the whole room. I can't get enough candles. They happened to be vanilla scented (it was the cheapest I could find!) but this was so, so great too. The entire room smelled like cookies baking. Every time I smell vanilla I think of my wedding day.
