Fall Wedding Ideas

I realize I'm behind the curve here, that in the wedding industry I'm supposed to be talking about spring wedding already to prepare for the next season. However, I just love fall and just love fall weddings. Those of us that have fall weddings (my own wedding was in fall) deserve to have some focus on us too!

The earthy colors, the smells and moderate temperatures make fall an ideal time for weddings. I've been to (or helped plan) quite a few in the last two months and want to share some of the best fall wedding ideas with you...

Apple Theme - Yes, that is right, an apple theme! This couple decided to hold their wedding at an apple picking orchard. The actual apple picking season was just ending so the farm agreed to allow a wedding there. They were married amidst rows and rows of apple trees! At the reception we were served hot (spiked with rum) apple cider and caramel apples were given out as favors.

Leaves in a New Way - Leaves are a common fall wedding decoration but last week I saw them used in a new way! It was an outdoor wedding on grass and the whole grassy area was raked clear of leaves. Then the fall leaves were sprinkled down the aisle to create a fall walkway. The colors were amazing and this decoration was free! This same couple had tall narrow clear glass vases on their tables as centerpieces filled with (you guessed it!) pretty fall leaves. So simple, so FREE, yet so stunning.
