Featured Article: Silk Flower AdvantagesDon't stick your nose up at silk wedding flowers! Many of the silk flowers on the market right now are so incredibly beautiful that you have to touch them to see if they are real or fake because you can't even tell by looking.
With winter around the corner and as in-season wedding flowers dwindle silk flowers may be the way to go, especially if you want a certain color but don't want to break the bank to get it in a natural flower. They are ideal for the DIYer since you can do arrangements days, weeks, even months in advance and not have to worry about wilting or transporting water!
Then there is the price difference! You can save a bundle by going silk since you will be more likely to do it all yourself. Plus, you don't need traditional vases with water, you can put your flowers in anything. The time you'll save by using silk can be spent on other wedding projects saving you even more money!
One handy tip though if you will use silk flowers and want them to look real...be careful when you pick colors! Pick colors that are found in nature. Stay away from very, very bright colors (avoid hot pink or electric blue roses) and you will have more convincing arrangements.
